Dallas, Texas, June 20, 2007 – Nations Racing LLC, announced today that it has partnered with Chef Wendell, Memphis, Tennessee becoming the official Chef of Nations Racing. Opening July of 2002 Chef/Owner, Wendell Price quickly became the star attraction for the Historic Downtown South Main District of Memphis, TN. Since then Wendell World Beat Grill has had special clients/customers to receive the restaurant such as Tito Jackson, Ruby Wilson, David Guest, Eddie George, Al Green, B Smith and many others. Chef Wendell’s signature dishes the “She Crab Soup” and the “Deep Fried Lobster” are true crowd pleasers for Memphians and out of town guests alike. Chef Wendell is still sought-after by out-of town and visiting celebs, and has already been host to Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis, MoNique of Vh-1 Charm School, Bishop T.D. Jakes and Oscar-nominated actor Morgan Freeman. Starting on July 2nd, Chef Wendell will be heard on American Urban Radio Network on over 250 stations across the country on his weekly radio show called, “Cooking with Soul” (www.AURN.com) and is the spokesperson for Kingfords charcoal and the Summer Block Party Campaign 2007.

About Chef Wendell
Started and toured on SS Constitution in Hawaii for two years. When most tours ended after four months of sailing and after being Quarter Master for four months, Chef Wendell would continue working for an additional four months sailing as a Chief Stewart for the SS Constitution. Chef Wendell served his country as well as his desire to master the world of food through his travels.
Once Wendell completed his years at sea, he settled in Los Angeles and quickly became the chef of choice for many of the Hollywood elite. One contact and private party led to another, so Chef Wendell Price became caterer to stars like Liz Taylor, Kevin Costner, and Carl Lewis. While in Los Angeles, Chef Wendell opened Ya Mama’s Restaurant – Authentic Soul Food, along with a successful catering business that serviced the television industry. Four television shows that Wendell catered were: The Jeff Fox Worthy Show, The Steve Harvey Show, The Martin Lawrence Show, and The show Living Single Show with Queen Latifah. These were just four of many shows that Wendell catered during his run in Los Angeles.
In 1996, another restaurant Georgia’s opened under the ownership of Norman Nixon and Denzel Washington. Wendell was the head chef for Georgia’s Restaurant. Other restaurants include Café Soho, Houston, TX and Café Noir that he opened and operated with Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis.
